My Approach

Therapy isn't about being handed answers. It's about making room to understand yourself differently.

Meet Anne‑Marie

Who you'd be sitting with.

I'm an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, and how I work is shaped as much by who I am as by my training.

People often tell me they felt at ease more quickly than they expected, I think because I'm warm and straightforward, without distance or judgement.

I hold degrees in both Education and Psychotherapy & Counselling, and many years' experience working with children, young people and families across educational and therapeutic settings.

My recent academic research explored the stigma surrounding masculinity and its impact on men's mental health, further strengthening my understanding of the challenges many men face when seeking support.

I also work with adults of any gender, living with anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties or change, and you're welcome here whoever you are.

Choosing a therapist is personal, and it should feel right for you.

The Way I Work

Working, thoughtfully, alongside you.

With me, therapy is a place to think openly, without pressure to have all the answers.

We work together to make sense of your experiences, notice the patterns beneath them, and find new ways forward.

Being integrative simply means I don't work to one fixed method, I draw on several proven approaches and shape them around you, because no two people are the same.

What Working Together Feels Like

My specialist interests

The areas where I bring particular experience, training and genuine dedication.

Men's Mental Health

A central focus of my practice, a private space for men to speak openly, often for the first time, about stress and burnout, relationships, identity, and the expectations men so often carry in silence. This includes specialist experience supporting male survivors of abuse.

Trauma, Anxiety & Change

Integrative, trauma‑informed support through anxiety, low mood, neurodivergence and the life transitions that reshape how we see ourselves.

Young People (12+)

Steady, patient support for young people, drawn from years working alongside them and their families.

Thoughtful expertise. Personal therapy.

I'm committed to working to the highest professional and ethical standards.
